Rupert Murdoch marries his fifth wife at the age of 93, reports say

**Gray News** - Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch has married for the fifth time, according to multiple reports.

The Australian billionaire wed retired Russian biologist Elena Zhukov at his Moraga vineyard and estate in California on June 1, as reported by The Independent.

Murdoch is 93 years old, while Zhukov is 67.

According to the BBC, the couple first met at a party hosted by one of Murdoch’s ex-wives in the spring of 2023. Their engagement was confirmed in March 2024, The Independent noted.

Murdoch’s previous marriage was to U.S. model and actress Jerry Hall, lasting from 2016 to 2022, according to The Independent. His other ex-wives include Australian flight attendant Patricia Booker, Scottish-born journalist Anna Mann, and Chinese-born entrepreneur Wendi Deng, as reported by the BBC.

Murdoch started his media empire in 1952 after inheriting a newspaper from his father in Adelaide, Australia, according to the Associated Press. He later acquired numerous publications in the U.K. and the U.S., such as the News of the World, the Sun, the New York Post, and the Wall Street Journal, according to the BBC.

In 1996, he launched Fox News and established the Fox broadcast network, which became the first network to successfully compete with the “Big Three” broadcasters: ABC, CBS, and NBC.

Murdoch stepped down from his leadership roles at Fox Corp. and News Corp. in September 2023, as reported by the Associated Press. His son, Lachlan, took over as chairman of News Corp. and continued his role as CEO of Fox Corp. following Murdoch’s departure.
